Hagerstown, MD — On October 4, 2023, Hagerstown Police Department officers discovered a severely decomposed body of a male in the unit block of E Antietam St. The individual was presumably homeless and appeared to have been living in a shed located at the rear of a vacant property.
The deceased male is of an unknown race and was unable to be identified due to the advanced state of decomposition. However, he has several distinctive tattoos that may aid in his identification. He has a "Hindu" style tattoo of what appears to be an elephant on his left hand. Additionally, he has a tattoo of a skull wearing a hat on his left bicep and what seems to be a tattoo of a ghost on his left shoulder.
The Hagerstown Police Department is urging anyone who may be familiar with this individual to come forward. "If anyone is familiar with this person, please contact Detective Vogel," the department stated in a Facebook post.
If you have any information that could help identify this individual, you are encouraged to contact Detective Vogel at dvogel@hagerstownpd.org or call 301-791-2598. Your information could be crucial in helping to identify the deceased and notify his next of kin.
As the investigation continues, the urgency to identify this individual grows. The community is encouraged to share any information they may have, as it could be vital in solving this case.
